Played an inferior but very physical team today. Ended up with a 34 – 13 win. Seems like the hard-nosed defense approach isn’t quite panning out and our offense is more than willing to make up for it. We’re turning into a shootout team. We’re letting teams that shouldn’t be scoring against us score and then putting two up in response. As of the game results that have come in as I type this, we’re the highest scoring team by a decent margin. We’ve put up 98 points in three games. The next closest team has scored 74 in three games. The problem is that we’ve given up 27…by far the worst of the undefeated teams. There are teams with losing records that haven’t given up as many points.

Not sure what to make of that because it goes so against what our team was kind of all about. But this year there’s just so many offensive weapons that it’s insane. I’d hate to have to try to stop us. We have a half dozen boys that can move the ball effectively and we actually have a passing game…something that you start to see more of at this level, but I haven’t seen anyone as effective or consistent as we are with it yet.

I still have no doubt (as in past years) that we’re among the top teams. We just got to keep getting it done.
