Picked up my son from school a few minutes ago and we’re going through his folders and he’s telling me what he did today and he gets to this:

“Today was the day those airplanes flew into the building or whatever” and I didn’t quite hear him so I said, “What?” and he all impatiently says, “You know when the planes crashed into the buildings a long time ago!”

A long time ago. Sigh.

I imformed him that that happened just a couple of weeks before he was born and he blew me off by walking away with a, “Yeah.”

Which I guarantee was followed by a silent, “A long time ago.”
