Ok, the thing with finding a Kitty that is mature and not getting a new kitten is that it’s more like taking in a roommate than having a baby.
When you get a new kitten, you watch it grow and teach it and it learns to fit in as part of the family and takes on your traits and such. Like having a baby.
But with an older cat, it’s already done all of that. Kitty is established. It’s like making a new friend. Do you get along? Do they do things that annoy? What are their habits? Can we coexist and work around one another without wanting to kill each other? Like taking in a roommate.
They are different experiences. Not necessarily better or worse, just different.
After a week, Kitty does her thing. We do ours. We’re feeling each other out. Getting to know each other. Trying to create that groove.
