Here’s my plans for the weekend:
Tonight we swing by and pick up one of my daughter’s friends and head to the lovely Hampton Inn in Solon.
We’re spending Saturday at Geauga Lake (opening day) and going back to the hotel.
On Sunday we’re leaving the hotel and heading over to Cedar Point to check out Maverick. With a little luck, we’ll be among the first 3000 riders of the day and score a free T-shirt. (and I’ll finally own a piece of coaster-related apparel)
We’re heading back home Sunday Night.
On Monday morning we’re off to Kings Island to check the opening of Firehawk (which before this season was at Geauga Lake). With a little more luck, we’ll be among the first 2500 riders and score another free T-shirt. (and I’ll potentially own two pieces of coaster-related apparel)
So basically, we’re spending the holiday weekend hitting the Cedar Fair Ohio Park Trifecta. I’m milking this Maxx Pass for all it’s worth.
…and no, gas prices aren’t affecting our plans one bit, so please quit telling me they are every time I turn on the news.

I find it hard to believe you don’t have any coaster apparel.
I only have two. One is from Kennywood and I love it dearly because it isn’t tainted with stupid logos and slogans. Just clean and classic… like Kennywood.
For what it’s worth, I’m hitting The Dells this weekend, including Noah’s Ark.
I had a Kraken shirt about 5 or 6 years ago, but it’s long gone. (Seen Here)
The kids have some stuff and my wife digs the coasterimage shirts I do, but we’re just not the type to wear our hearts on our sleeve (literally) when it comes to coasters and parks. You’ll never see me in clothing of any type that references a ride or park. It’s so not me.
Love the Maverick pix on CI.com! Can’t wait till next month, and I want a review soon, Gonch. ;-)
As for coaster apparel, I have a Volcano visor that just looked cool, but I rarely wear, and I have a BORG shirt, but only because I’m a Trekkie. I don’t really wear it in public, unless I’m going to grocery shop and have it on.
P.S. Gas prices aren’t affecting my Ohio trip, but mostly because the Carowinds Maxx Pass at $80 helps :-P
