To the best of my recollection, the last time I saw a movie at a Drive-In was probably almost exactly 30 years ago. It would have been Star Wars. I would’ve been 4 and yes, I remember it. (I actually have memories that when I describe them to my mother and grandmother – they date me as young as 2 or 3 – I remember shit, what can I say?)
Back in 1977 I fell asleep long before the movie was over, but I do remember they had ‘Darth Vader’ walking around from car to car prior to the movie. (for the record, that would be the original movie – episode IV for you Star Wars geeks)
At any rate, we spent Saturday evening at the Drive-In. Skyborn Drive-In to be precise. We took in the double feature of POTC: At World’s End & Wild Hogs. (yes, we stayed and sat through the entire showing of Wild Hogs)
I dunno. The Drive-In is simultaneously one of the coolest and one of the lamest things. If I never get to one again, great. If I do, great.
I would like to close this post with two really shitty pictures:

When we went to the drive-in, they were also showing POTC & Wild Hogs. We made it though 2/3 of POTC before leaving. The torrential rain probably had something to do with it.
Our theater is also very grassy. There is a huge lawn up to the screen where kiddies swarm and everyone else parks in the grass, making a great place to through a blanket down.
The biggest change at ours besides the $1 increase in price to $6 a head (Outrageous! ;)), was that the 3ish man, homemade, metal urinal was replaced with three traditional ones. Sad, sad day.
Man, how could I have missed that entry on your blog?
