Last time gas spiked I posted a few thoughts about how people and the media over-react.

So four years later, here we are again. Last night I saw a story on the local news about how driving just a little further could “save you big” at the pump. Basic gist was that gas was $3.53 at one station and about a mile away it could be found for $3.36.

17 cents.

This is a news story about 17 cents.

And then they have quick little interviews and soundbites from local idiots about how great it is to have found the lower price and how great it is to save.

Our vehicles have 16 and 18 gallon tanks. Going from bone-dry to full would save us 2.72-3.06. Or in the case of my car, the price of a fill-up would go from $56.48 to $53.76.

Yeah, I’m not going out of my way and I’m not impressed. People are fucking retarded.
