The Nation Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for our area effective until Wednesday morning. Heat index temps are expented to be around 106 degrees.
Feel like being in Florida again…except the air at our place is set to a refreshing 72 degrees.
I don’t know if it’s just me getting older or changing in general, but I don’t do heat like I used to. I fucking hate when it’s hot. Give me a cozy couch and snow falling outside the window over baking on the beach any day.
I think I’ll be staying inside today.
I find myself at the direct opposite of the spectrum… or thermostat. In Minnesota we basically face 5 months of winter – November through March. I looked at the calendar a few days ago and thought, “Oh shit, here we go again.” It gets very old freezing your balls off for 5 months each year. I’m tied down here between work, a house, and the kids being in school here. Once I retire, I’m definitely turning into a snow bird for the winter months.
I need to retire to New England…somewhere that has 9 months of winter and summer highs of 75.
You can always add clothes to keep warm, but once you’re naked and still burning up, you’re fucked. :)
