I figure the IS can’t hurt. I mostly chose it because from what I’ve read, it’s a step up from the lower end stuff in term of optics.
I’d like to get into some better lenses, but I still want to blend in and don’t really want to pull out big oversized, white, L lenses in public places.

Good call getting the IS version of the big lens. Just remember… shutter speed > focal length. ;)

I doubt I’ll ever find a reason to dump Canon.
