Yep, kiddies. It’s that time of year again and the unusually warm end of winter has everything blooing and budding about a month early in these parts. For those of you who’ve missed the first three installments:
Swine Flu In My Eyes – May 2, 2009
Allergies – April 8, 2010
Allergy Season 3: Return Of The Itch – April 30, 2011
This year it started slow with some mild throat itch. Then turned into irritated eyes, but nothing like the past years. A little crusty in the mornings, but totally bearable. Then last night I noticed my right eye was sore. It sounds weird, but it felt like I got punched. If I touched anywhere near it, it was tender. Then at bedtime, I happened to look in the mirror and realized my right eyelid was swollen to roughly 64 times normal size. It’s like the right side of my face is totally stoned and the left is still ok to operate heavy machinery.
It feels a little better today, but I still look half high. Looking to avoid the doctor. I don’t know why. It feels so whiny to say, “oooh, my eyes are itchy…help meeeeee!”
I’m self medicating to mediocre results. We’ll see where it goes from here. Everything is like a month ahead of schedule, so maybe I’ll be able to enjoy May for a change.
