Companies Yank Cord on Residential Phone Book
Awww. Makes sense though. I haven’t used one in a decade, at least. Used to love sorting though the phone book as a kid. The maps and area codes and stuff were always of interest. (or was that the yellow pages?)
I do remember one year that the Yellow Pages had little 4-digit codes on many of the ads and a listing of these codes. You could call a 1-800 number and punch in these codes and get info on the business. I distinctly remember calling and listening to the Cedar Point one over and over. That recorded message sounded so exciting.
Man, if the internet existed when I was a kid, I would have probably popped.
