  • 1. Role Models – more adult than I expected and way funnier than I expected. Exactly the kind of movie I suspect anyone reading this blog would not enjoy.

    2. SNL with Justin Timberlake – I had expectations going in so maybe it was a case of anticipointment, but this was easily the worst of JT’s appearances. I can’t decide if they tried too hard or not hard enough. Felt like they thought doing the same things again would work. It had moments, but overall the show paled in comparison to the other ones hosted by Timberlake. There are just some people in the world who are likeable. They just have something about them that – even if you want to hate them – you just like. Justin Timberlake is one of those people.

    3. The Wrestler – Good, solid movie. Not sure it’s as good as I was led to believe going into it, but it had me for the full 111 minutes. Might be another case of anticipointment.

When I rate movies on Netflix I use this scale:

***** – Good movie, would watch (at least in part) every chance I get
**** – Good movie, would probably watch a handful of times
*** – Good movie, enjoyed but once was enough
** – Not a good movie, sat through the whole thing but didn’t care for it
    * – couldn’t even sit through the entire film

The Wrestler was a solid three, not quite a four. A three and a half for me. I could round it to a four thanks to the plentiful, gratutitous shots of Marisa Tomei. I’m officially closing in on middle age. I find myself looking at older women and finding them more attractive than the younger ‘girls’ I see. At 44, she has 8 years on me, but Marisa Tomei looks ridiculously good in this.

So yeah, my weekend entertainment went like that.

Do you find yourself wanting to hate Paul Rudd the way I do? I’m not even sure why I feel that way.
