  • How old is too old for trick-or-treating?

Gotta agree with the wisdom that says once you hit the teens, you’re done.

Don’t be that kid. It’s the equivalent of sitting on Santa’s lap. You look like an ass.

The comments to the story bug me too as it seems most people don’t have a problem with it. Seems like a sympton of the larger mindset that has caught on in the past few years in which being childlike and age innapproariate is somehow cute, whimsical and healthy.

    It’s not.

My daughter is 12 (her birthday is the week after Halloween) and she’s not going this year. In fact, she was laughing about some kids she knows who were going. What she decided to do this year is have a 13th birthday/Halloween party this weekend. Good for her.

My son (who is 9) is excited to parade around the neighborhood door-to-door and get candy. Good for him.

I haven’t had older kids come to the door. I don’t know what I’d do if some did. I’d probably just give them candy and be content knowing what a loser they are.

13 is too old to trick-or-treat.
